MBUYISELO BOTHA

Through his advocacy work, Mbuyiselo has been featured in hundreds of newspaper, radio and television features and interviews and is widely recognised for his work in South Africa and across the world. Mbuyiselo co-hosts weekly talk shows on many commercial and community radio stations, reaching millions of listeners each week. He is also a regular contributing columnist in many of South Africa’s leading newspapers. He has presented at dozens of international gender, health and human rights conferences around the world. In 2007, during a women’s day celebration speech in Galeshewe near Kimberley,

President Thabo Mbeki singled Mbuyiselo out for special praise and expressed his appreciation for Mbuyiselo’s work done with men for gender equality in South Africa. In January 2014, he was appointed by President Jacob Zuma as a part-time commissioner of the Commission for Gender Equality for 5 years. He serves on the Board of Directors of the following organisations: Gender Links, University of South Africa Institute for Social and Health Science and Lifeline (Vaal Triangle). He is the proud father of three children, one boy and two girls and a grandfather to three boys.

DR VICTOR RAMATHESELE

Medical Practitioner, Talk Show Host

Dr Ramathesele graduated with MB ChB from the University of Natal in 1985. He later obtained M Phil in Sports Medicine from the University of Cape Town in 1998 and completed the Management Advancement Programme (MAP) at the Wits Business School in 2002. Victor worked in the Soweto clinics in the late eighties before setting up general practice in Katlehong and later Tembisa until 2000, when he joined the private sector.

In between these engagements he was the team doctor of South African premier league soccer side Jomo Cosmos and subsequently served in the same capacity for Bafana Bafana (the South African national soccer team) from 1992 to 2000. He joined Human Dynamics, a corporate wellness company, as a medical consultant in 2000 which paved the way for tenure as Pharmaco-economics Manager at Novartis Pharma in 2002 and was later appointed as Market Access Manager.

DR DAVID MOLAPO

In addition to being one of the most sought after Motivational Speakers, David Molapo holds two of South Africa’s most prestigious awards, the Young Achiever of the Year – South Africa Award & Four Outstanding South African’s Awards (FOYSA) and he has appeared in the Who’s Who in South Africa from 1995 to date. He has consulted for the top 100 Companies and his former designations have included being a Non-Executive Director of Dimension Data SA and other major corporations such as South African Airways and Spoornet. He obtained an Associate Degree in Mathematics and Science followed by a B.Sc. in Education, a Master’s Degree in Education and a Doctorate in Religious Education in the USA. You also need all the knowledge and wisdom you can glean from God’s Word.

His values are integrity, honesty and fairness, and he believes the keys to success in life is to believe in yourself, grow in confidence, and be tough but tender hearted. An important lesson life has taught him is to always take others up to the top with you. Dr David Molapo is a top management consultant, educationalist and renowned motivational speaker. JOSINA MACHEL

Ms. Josina Z. Machel holds an MSc degree in Sociology (Gender) from the London School of Economics and Political Science and a Bachelor of Social Science, Sociology and Political Science from the University of Cape Town, South Africa. Ms Machel is also the founder and director of Protect Her Life, an insurance company that seeks to support the safety of women who are subjected to unprecedented levels of gender-based violence. The company provides easily accessible tools to use in the event of abuse or an emergency, by providing comprehensive insurance and emergency assistance packages specially designed for women. The cover is underwritten by Capital Alliance, a division of the Liberty Life group. Ms Machel was recently elected to be the representative of Survivors of Violence, Mozambique, in the National Interim group at the European Union (EU) and

United Nations (UN) new global Spotlight Initiative, which is a new multi-year initiative by the EU and the UN which seeks to eliminate all forms of violence against women and girls (VAWG) and to bring focused attention to this issue, moving it into the spotlight and placing it at the centre of efforts to achieve gender equality and women’s empowerment, in line with the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable
Development. She was also nominated in to the Mama Albertina Sisulu 100 Women of Fortitude. A group of 100 inspirational women who lead the campaign to encourage and revitalize the current generation of South Africans to continue MaSisulu’s legacy of activism to better our nation. This campaign will use the stories of the past and present heroines to inspire other women to take charge of their own development.

GOGO DINEO NDLANZI

Celebrated Spiritual Teacher & Life Coach 

 Gogo Dineo Ndlanzi is celebrated as a sangoma, spiritual teacher, life coach and and professional African storyteller, poet, writer, dancer and facilitator. The best way to summarise her life’s work is that she is a facilitator of change. She is passionate about enlightening people to view life from a different perspective through bringing about changes in outlook to allow for holistic healing. Gogo Dineo brings creativity to facilitate safe learning spaces and processes of social change. She is also a licensed Heal Your Life Teacher and certified Organisational Systems Coach. She is a well-known media and radio contributor and founded the Heal Your Life Series on Power FM 98.7 a show dedicated to teaching listeners on African Spirituality and philosophy. She has a regular on the Fresh Breakfast show in a monthly slot appearing every last Tuesday on Metro FM; she has made regular appearances on 702, Kaya FM, and Radio 2000 (where she does Alternate Tuesdays with KG) and various television shows such as Daily Thetha. She is also a cultural advisor on various television shows and artist performances.

She has consulted with companies such as Nedbank, Standard Bank, FNB, Impala Mines, Anglo Platinum, the Gordon Institute of Business Science, Gautrain and Activate Architecture, amongst others. She has worked in Ethiopia, Ghana, Zambia, Lesotho and Brazil. Her work has seen her work for Stellenbosch University and various other government institutions. Gogo Dineo is also a regular speaker at University of Witswatersrand, teaching medical students on African healing practices. Annually she facilitates a week long winter environmental workshop for second year science students from universities across the country. She recently founded The Gogo Dineo Ndlanzi Institute of Spiritual Healing, where she trains healers and does public talks on the role of African Spirituality in the 21st century demystifying myths and stereotypes around indigenous healing practices. She lives with her four children and husband in Cosmo City, Johannesburg.

GUGULETHU XABA

As a community activist he served in various roles in politics, union leadership, community engagement and even career and information centres. He believes in the provision of intelligent but practical solutions to address complex problems. His area of interest and expertise include leadership development, personal coaching, youth development, thinking skills, facilitation, corporate governance and research. He is the present Chairperson of the Dr George Mukhari Academic Hospital Board. He also a member of the Vuselela TVET College Council where he is also the chairperson of the Audit and Risk Committee. In the past, he was a member of the Ekurhuleni East TVET College where he served for two terms as the Deputy Chairperson and The chairperson of the Audit and Risk Committee. He is currently working as Director of Student Governance and Leadership Development at Tshwane University of

Technology (TUT). His previous roles included being the Head of the Leadership centre and Student Development Practitioner at TUT; Senior Academic Administrator at UNISA, a lecturer in business studies at Tlhamoha Technical College and a Director of Training and Development at Taff Zalli Foundation. His academic qualifications include a Masters degree in Entrepreneurship from Tshwane University of Technology, a B-tech in Corporate Administration and National Diploma in Company Administration from Technikon Witwatersrand. He has also received advanced training in Corporate Governance and Ethical leadership from Wits University Graduate School of Business Administration and University of Pretoria. He is currently enrolled for a doctoral degree in organisational leadership focusing on the development of a framework for evaluating leadership development programs.

SIYA KHUMALO

Author

Siya is a socio-political commentator who speaks and writes on religion, politics and sex. These three topics form what he describes as “the triquetra of power”.  After being reprimanded at a dinner party for “talking about religion, politics and sex in polite company,”. Siya Khumalo wrote a number of analyses that culminated in A book titled You Have To Be Gay To Know God (Kwela Books, April 2018), which has won the Desmond Tutu-Gerrit Brand Literary Prize.

He is ex-military, a Mr. Gay South Africa runner-up and Mr. Gay World Top 10 finalist. His website (The Gay Guy Who Knew God) has links to some of the radio and television interviews he has featured in.

Caesar Molebatsi is a long standing champion for social justice and empowerment in South Africa, and has worked in youth and economic development on many fronts. His media involvement include facilitating ‘Two Way’, a popular television audience participation show, reflecting and encouraging the “pulse” of South Africa. He also facilitated the television series, ‘Search for Common Ground’, and the Peace Radio programme, ‘The Full Story’. JOSHUA MAPONGA

Maponga is the CEO of the institute Farmers of Thought, a core business a consciousness and improve the quality of human experiences than the quantity of days. He is a pragmatic African citizen with a global view “Think globally and act locally” as he says it. He plays dozen musical instruments, he is an author, life coach and social entrepreneur-indeed is a man of no limitations. PHELELANI NZUZA

Spiritual Leader and Management Consultant

His Grace, the Archbishop Phelelani Nzuza has been at the helm of spiritual leadership of the Church of the Holy Ghost for the past 10 years, following the demise of the late iNceku in 1995. Following his prophetic calling at the age of nineteen (19), whilst studying towards Homeopathy in Johannesburg, he pursued studies in Psychology at the then Rand Afrikaans University and completed his Masters degree in 2004.

The Archbishop began his leadership during the significantly crucial period of the church and the country in general, on the eve of the turn of the century (1999), where the role of spirituality in the global world came under intense scrutiny (as it continues to be). He strategically led the church through major periods of change, demonstrating spiritual leadership characterized by tolerance, inclusion, cultural & time relevance, community, and stewardship.

DR. SHINGAI MUTAMBIRWA

Urologist and Academic

Although born in Zimbabwe, Shingai grew up in Canada as his parents had relocated in order to pursue post graduate studies. He has retained a strong American accent, and his deep baritone voice is now instantly recognisable on radio in South Africa. He has fond memories of the tightly knit unit that he and his brothers formed, but definitely prefers the climate in Africa. He returned to Zimbabwe in the eighties to study medicine. He graduated cum Laude and was the youngest ever medical doctor to graduate in Zim at the time. Current Position & Experience. Prof Shingai is currently head of the Urology Department at The Sefako Makgatho Health Sciences University (SMU). He was inspired to enter the speciality by Zimbabwe’s first Urologist, Dr Danso, a vibrant and enthusiastic mentor who encouraged Shingai to pursue his studies in South Africa.

Studying at Medunsa during these turbulent times in South Africa’s history was a challenge, but Shingai acknowledges that the brotherhood that existed in urology was deeply motivating. His passion for research and his desire to “make things happen”, has resulted in his involvement in a number of innovative projects. These include; being a founding member of the Prostate Cancer Foundation of South Africa (PCF) and heading a review board for “South African Guidelines for Enuresis” under the Enuresis Academy of South African. In addition he is extensively involved in various leadership roles, these include; being a peer reviewer for The Journal of Urology (AUA), African Journal of Urology and Hindawi online publications. Heading the medical and scientific advisory board of The Prostate Cancer Foundation of SA (PCF) and heading the academic committee for the South African Urological Association (SAUA) He is also a member of the Continence Association of South Africa (CASA)
